Conference Introduction
Digital transformation is a cultural and professional change affecting all services of institutions and state sectors, converting essential services related to individuals and institutions from traditional forms to smart digital formats. Today, the world is witnessing a radical transformation due to the digital revolution impacting various sectors, including information institutions and archives, which must adapt to a new working environment that requires using modern technology to collect, organize, and provide information to the community.
Information institutions face several challenges in the necessity of digital transformation across all their tasks and services: infrastructure, type and security of information, preservation and sustainability methods, in addition to a major challenge: preserving the identity and specialty of information and libraries. Hence, this conference was designed to open a space for discussion and exchange of opinions and experiences, to understand the nature and reality of digital transformation in Algerian information institutions, and to anticipate a smooth digital transition that ensures modernization, renewal, and continuity of the profession while preserving its identity and characteristics.

It seeks to anticipate their development to achieve maximum effectiveness while preserving professional specificity and the identity of the library and information specialty.
