3rd National Seminar & Workshop on Open Source & Free Software in Mechanical Engineering (OSFS-Meca2026) October 21-22, 2026

Preface

OSFS-Meca2026 is the third seminar and workshop on Free and Open Source Software applied to mechanical engineering. It will take place on October 21–22, 2026, in partnership with the Laboratory of Development in Mechanics and Materials (LDMM) and the Faculty of Science and Technology, University Ziane Achour of Djelfa, Algeria.

Following the success of previous editions, the scientific committee has decided to organize this seminar annually, each time in a different city or university.

• The 1st Scientific Day (OSFSD-2022) was held at the University of Tissemsilt, in partnership with the Applied Mechanics Laboratory (LMA-USTO), Oran.
• The 1st Seminar (OSFS-Meca 2023), Tissemsilt.
• The 2nd Scientific Day (FOSS-2024), Mascara.
• The 2nd Seminar (OSFS-Meca 2024), Mostaganem.

OSFS-Meca2026 aims to highlight the application of free and open-source software and codes in mechanical engineering. This scientific event focuses on research work that utilizes open-source tools, free software, and original programming solutions to address complex engineering problems.
